I like Gardner Hotel, El Paso

2009-03-31_18-24-47-springbreak-7613-ulfI’ll try to keep this blog post very short. I did really enjoy my stay in Gardner Hotel, El Paso, Texas. Pros:

  • A great ambience! It really feels like an old, comfy hotel :-).
  • Free Wifi.
  • In the center of downtown, just a block away from the main downtown bus stop (and the public bus system in El Paso is also really great!).
  • They gave me a map of El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, so I didn’t even have to ask for one.

  • No breakfast.
  • One can’t turn off the light in the bathroom. What a waste of energy!
  • Both the toilet and the shower were leaking. What a waste of water!

On the top picture you can see the lobby. All the furniture was really old which created a great atmosphere!
Now, this is what my room looked like. Another attempt to stitch a picture with hugin:
room_stiched2_doneI used the automatic mode again, and as you can see, there are a few flaws. But I don’t care about this right now. As you can see I didn’t take enough pictures of the center, so that’s where hugin had problems fitting everything together. And the exposure settings for the pictures near the window were very different from those near the wall, so that also makes the stitch look strange.
